Denver Post: 'Tails of the Painted Cats a hit for Cat Care Society'

Quoting from Joanne Davidson's Lifestyles column:

"Cat Ballou, Frida Kat-Lo and Pablo Picatso, along with 17 of their cleverly decorated friends, have been cattin' around all over town for the past several months. Not to hunt mice, though. These pretty kitties were putting themselves on display at art galleries and shopping centers to drum up interest in the Cat Care Society's signature fundraiser, Tails of the Painted Cats.Their efforts were not in vain, because the gala at which the creatively decorated fiberglass felines were sold to the highest bidder had a record 170 guests and a net profit that is expected to exceed the $55,000 that had been collected by evening's end."

Great News for Senior Kitty Li'l G + Success Story for Purina's "Pets for People 55+" Program

Li'l G, a senior kitty who had been residing in the Cat Care Society shelter for over 2 years, was recently adopted through our Purina "Pets for People 55+" Program. We're so thrilled that this wonderful cat has found her forever home.

Also, at Cat Care Society, when adopting a senior cat, we offer our Perpet-U-Care program. Cat Care Society will cover the costs up to $250 per calendar year of free veterinary services at The Cat Clinic at Cat Care Society to help offset the costs of adopting a senior cat (age 10+ years). Link to learn more.

Note: Li'l G was adopted under the Purina "Pets for People 55+" Program. To partake, bring this flyer to Cat Care Society.

Cat Care Society Is A Participating Colorado Shelter: 'Purina Offers Free Cat or Dog Adoption For 55+'

Quoting from Mile High On The Cheap's posting:

"The unconditional love of a pet is priceless at any age. And, if you’re 55 or older, the adoption itself is priceless — thanks to Purina. Of course, the iconic pet food brand is committed to finding a loving home for all cats and dogs. However, it’s even more important to find your new family member at a shelter. That’s why they offer Purina-funded adoptions (a.k.a FREE) for those 55 and older at participating shelters across the country — while funds are available. In Colorado, the following shelters participate in the program: Aurora Animal Shelter, Fort Morgan Humane Society, Humane Society of Fremont County, Chihuahua and Small Dog Rescue, Cat Care Society and Southern Colorado Spay/Neuter Association."

How Donations Help Cat Care Care Society Shelter Cats Waiting For Their Forever Homes

Cat Care Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, operates a privately funded shelter near 6th and Sheridan in the Denver area and relies exclusively on charitable donations to carry out its shelter programs and community outreach. Here's how funds can help the Cat Care Society cats waiting for their forever homes:

$15,000 provides 6 months’ worth of medicines for our clinic

$10,000 covers the cost of operating our Temporary Care Program for a full year, serving cats of 50 families temporarily made homeless due to foreclosure, fire, or personal misfortune – we’re ready to reach out to any cat “mom” or “dad” in need of temporary care, esp. due to recent fires

$5,000 feeds 60 cats for 9 months

$2,500 provides carrying cases, collars, tags, and starter toys for all cats adopted into their forever homes from our shelter for 1 year

$1,000 provides complete care for 30 kittens, including shots, spaying/neutering, microchips, food, and litter

$500 provides medical care for a senior cat (10+ years) for a year

$250 buys two month’s worth of cat litter for the shelter

$100 provides antibiotics for two sick cats for 2 weeks

One-time donations or recurring donations may be made online at ColoradoGives.org

Kitten Painting and Signed Peyton Manning Jersey added to bid site:

We've added a kitten painting and signed football jersey pairing to the advanced bidding lineup.

"This painting was not actually inspired by our beloved Denver team, but instead was a happy accident. Pumpkin, seeing what was transpiring during his painting session, quickly dried his paws and summoned his assisting apprentice to grab a brush and strategically place a small football near the center of extraordinary energy on the canvas. He felt it would give focus to the dramatic and intense motion he had already created. We can only applaud his sense of timing and simplicity, creating a small piece of epic importance." Go get your bid in now!
